REPRESENTATIVE JASON POWELL TO DISCUSS WIDENING OF NOLENSVILLE ROAD

NASHVILLE—Representative Jason Powell is pleased to announce that The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s 2022 budget includes funding for the construction phase of Nolensville Pike from North of Mill Creek to near Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville.  This 2.4-mile segment represents Phase I of an overall 4.4-mile project to improve SR 11 from Burkitt Road to Old Hickory Blvd.  The improvement includes upgrading this major thoroughfare from the existing two-lane roadway to a five-lane section with additional turning lanes, bicycle lanes and sidewalks.  This will address congestion, improve safety, and accommodate area growth.

Representative Powell said: “Widening Nolensville Pike in South Nashville has been a top priority of mine since the day I announced my campaign for State Representative in 2012.   This is an exciting day for me and a huge win for the community that I’m fortunate to represent.  The widening of this section of Nolensville Pike will be a significant improvement to the quality of life for South Nashvillians who often find themselves stuck in traffic on this extremely busy two-lane section.   I never stopped my effort to fund construction including speaking about it on the House Floor, consistently requesting status updates, and organizing a recent meeting with my fellow area Davidson and Williamson County legislators and TDOT.”
